Hey guys,

Maybe I am too new to BMW ownership (only had by GSA WC for 4 months) but I've had nothing but prompt service from Nippy Normans.

On lots of posts I have read people advising against NN, or suggesting there may be an issue with NN.....why?

Since owning the bike I have added radiator guards and a headlight protector both from NN. And this week I just purchased a brace for the clocks (as I park my bike in London everyday and posts on here suggested clocks are going walks), which arrived 2 days after ordering it. On a side note, the Cymark brace looks a lot better than the website pictures and certainly would require the 'would-be tea leaf' to have spanner and hex keys with them! Good bit of kit!

Have I just been lucky? I haven't had to speak to anyone at NN as all my purchases have been fine and arrived swiftly, so no complaints from here.

I am sure this will open up a host of flaming, but so far Nippy Normans have delivered on time, the right kit at a competitive price.....whats not to like?

My experiences (3) have all been positive too. Things go wrong from time to time and how it is handled is the true test of customer service.

I think this is where those that have had problems are coming from...

If you've read those posts then surely the posters have provided the reasons that you question, in those threads?

I guess they do a web search, find the sponsor's link to here, and think: "I'll show that Nippy Norman! I'll post on a forum- that'll teach him!"

Al:rolleyes:

I've had stuff from NN with no bother It is quite possible to beat his price though without too much effort

Nothing wrong with Nippy's a great service to BMW owners, we would be worse off without people like him who support us bikers!

Re the 'nay-sayers'......You will always find that particular customer who you can never ever please.

I have known Norman for quite a few years, even met him a few times too.

I’ve always found him to provide a good service at reasonable prices, not always the cheapest, but certainly competitive.

He is someone that is willing to take on ‘items’ that others wont entertain for whatever reason and for that, I think he does the Motorcycling community a positive service, willing to put his toe in the water on our behalf so to speak. He even took on stuff that Motorrad Concepts produced back in the day...

Of course, he’s a business man and expects to make money out of whatever he sells, who wouldn't.

Those that have put up complaint threads will no doubt feel aggrieved and that’s only right if the customer service falls below their expectations.

As mentioned above, a lot is down how the matter is resolved.

The end solution lies in their hands and the way they vote with the hard earned...

As it happens, we only ever get one side of the story as Norman never replies, as far as I know, on public forums. That’s his choice.

A business lives and dies on the strength of the products and service/prices etc so considering how long he’s been around now, he must be doing things right for the most part.

Shit happens....

I have passed comment before about this subject,my experience was I dealt with them four or five times previously and received very good service. The last time was very different in so much as a part was ordered and sent out went it arrived it was had been picked wrong and I did not get what was ordered which they admitted. To get it sorted involved ignored e mails and phone calls. One phone call I got hung up on and they would not answer again until I dialled from a different number. The matter was eventually resolved after I had to return the wrongly dispatched item at my expense.
The true test of customer service is how matters are dealt with when there is a problem.
I would not deal with them again if they are the only supplier of an item I want I would rather not have it.

From my experiance NN provides good service unless you have a problem, over the years I've used him on numerous occasions and on all but one occasion had good service. But as with most things problem resolution is the true test of service. I bought a set of spotlights from him, fitted them and all was well but within a month they had started to rust badly. I called to complain about the corrosion and to ask for them to be replaced. I was surprised by the answer which was "what do you expect for £70" and no amount of arguing would have him do anything. I made several more calls all to no avail. In the end I gave up, binned them, and replaced them with some Hella spots.

I must be a soft touch because I've used him since and subsequently had good service and everything supplied has been of good quality, reasonably priced and promptly delivered. However, he's not the first place I look.

I have bought several items from NN over the years, but on the last 2 occasions when buying from him he sent an empty package which should have had pannier protection film in it. The other problem was with a Steibel horn. Both times I failed to even get an E mail reply when i sent an e mail alerting them to a problem.
Once they have your money they are not bothered if there is a problem. Personally i voted with my feet so to speak and won't use NN again.

I have received nothing other than first class service and I have even received emails by return when NN did not understand my question. As has been said, not always the most competitive but, for me, they are always a "Go to" supplier first.

I had to return a damaged screen that they sold me back in April, I eventually had an undamaged one sent to me in time for a trip, but I'm still waiting for a postage refund from them despite me sending emails to remind them that they owe me the money, that obviously isn't going to happen now, I'm with stever1, I wont use them again!!

As others have mentioned, it is how problems are dealt with, if and when they arise, that show how good customer service is. If your order goes smoothly, then no problem, you are going to be a happy bunny.

The very first order I placed with NN went awry, the wrong part arrived and it took longer to resolve than it should have. In the end the matter was fully sorted out and I was recompensed out of pocket expenses. I was disappointed that that it took longer than it should to resolve, and whilst they did respond to all my emails, I was disappointed that there was no contact number (that I could find at the time) on their website or on the paperwork that came with the order. I would much preferred to have spoken to someone regarding the order. I later found out that there is a number available on these forums if you search for it.

I'm sure NN is an honourable guy/business, and I'm fairly certain that he will resolve any issues to the customers satisfaction, but despite this, after my initial experience, I was apprehensive about placing another order, worth several hundred pounds, with him. Finally, this week I decided to give it a go, I placed the order on Tuesday at 17:30, choosing the free delivery on orders over £99 option, I received an email advising of dispatch on Wednesday morning, and received the goods today, Friday. All the items were correct. This time they got it right and I am very happy (but not as happy as I am with the service that a similar company, supplying different parts, provides ;) ).

If you read my post I am not a particular customer who you can never ever please. When you order goods you expect to receive them or given an explanation as to when they will arrive. My money was taken immediately and all of my emails were never answered. Customer service was piss poor and I will never order from him again.

Brilliant customer services in my experience. Used them loads and dealt great with the only problem I've had

I don't like the fact everything is done by email. IMHO, M&P have a much better approach. Sadly they don't offer all the BMW specific stuff.

If I ever get a response to the emails and shopping list I sent them I could advise if I found the experience positive...

I can't fault NN as I've only done business with him once, but that business was prompt, with great communication and as good as it gets. I look forward to many more dealings with the chap.
Keep up the great work, NN.

I have had dealings with Nippy Norman in the past and parted with several hundred quid recently. The whole affair was conducted in a highly efficient and professional manner heaven threw in a freebie which I needed. 100% satisfaction.

Bought some stuff from Adventure Bike Shop in the past and recently great service all round. I have met Cliff several times and found him likeable and professional. He helped me out with stuff I did not purchase from him and chard egged me a token fee so 110%.

Both suppliers have been great and I think purchasing is all down to relationship if the suppliers are all selling the same stuff and customer service will win.
