I have just had a new rear tyre fitted to my GS, the place that fitted did not balance it as they did not have the correct sized mandrel (wish they had told me this first) is it essential that it is balanced?

many people dont balance the rear wheel on gs,s but you can do one on any car type balancer if you have a clue how to set the machine up!!if you want to have a ride over to my workshop in trowell ill do it for you you,ll even get a cuppa.:D .i normally dont do weekends unless im working on my own bikes tho..mike

If it has the tyre pressure monitor it will need balancing.

My tyre fitter complained at the amount of weights he had to put on to counterbalance it.

Best regards Stretch :)

As the OEM tyre on my 1200GSA with TPS monitors was already balanced with a big fat weight I have never needed to add any further weights or move the originals position. It always balances fine on my static balancer which is good enough for me and have had 5 new rears fitted since with no issues I can feel. Same result for the front.
