Ok was riding my motorbike along the fwy at 110km (68mph) (it is legal) in the rain (wipers set to 1, the one above intermediate). Hit a smoother stretch of tarmac in 6th gear, rear wheel spins like crazy, then regrips as I hit the normal fwy surface. I think that there must have been oil involved, but it does not make sense for that specific stretch of surface.
Note, front felt fine considering my bike was wiggling under me at 110kph.
1st. My bottom went from relaxed to the smallest starfish in the world, 2nd, I am proud of my bike for that much POWER!
This arvo went for a quick ride on a dirt road near mine, spun the rear wheel on my terms to 100km. Much better.

My tyres Front: Heid k60 new, Rear Mich Anarkee 2 new.

Question??? Has this happened to you??? Do you think it was a spin or aquaplane???

How new?

New tyres take a while to bed and may not be as sticky as you think when fresh.

Yes I have had it happen when I turned the ASC off on the GSA with brand new Karoos. But only on shiny overbanding, in the rain , at 85mph. I wont be experimenting with ASC under those conditions again.:aidan

3000km front and 1500km on the back. They were not waxy.
I am not talking about GSA, (don't know about ASC systems) There is only ABS available on 800gs's ( I have it).
