hi, i have just started doing my own servicing on my 1150 adventure and the book is telling me to use MOLYKOTE PASTE on the wheel spindle. would ordinary grease not do for this job? and the same for the sidestand switch..SHELL RETINAX EP2. seems a bit o.t.t. buying all these different greases, or is it advisable to use these.

any help would be appreciated, thanks BOB.

High melting point grease has always done the trick on previous bikes as well as GS, so unless there's something extra special about what's recommended I'll continue with the cheap stuff.

Coppergrease, anti sieze you see. Grease lubricates moving parts, the spindle shouldn't be moving in the bearings, or its mounting bore.
