I need a wheel trued. Can anyone recommend someone to do this?

cheers

I know Hagon shocks do a rebuild service. Many they can help or advise. JJH

Doesn't Davie Buick know anyone?

No he doesn't,the lad he used to use no longer does it. Same with another contact I was given.

Cheers for the Leven link I will give them a call.I was hoping someone here had used and could recommend somewhere.

Hagon is another good shout as I hadn't thought of them.

I need someone to see if the wheel is fixable otherwise it could mean a Talon replacement possibly.

cheers

The guy at windygates (Leven) gets a good rep from quite a few trials riders I know who live in the area.

I am dropping it in to him tomorrow,He was recommended by a couple of guys I know too. Hopefully it is fixable,to me it doesn't look bad but will find out.

cheers

Wheel now re- truid both radially and laterally.

Barry Brown who is the man behind Respoke & Bespoke is an engineer to trade and whittled up two spacers on his lathe, for the inside of the hubs so that the spindle fitted correctly. Then went about slackening then re-tensioning spokes until the wheel ran true. Also he did this while I waited so I didn't need to drive back down to collect the wheel. Good service.

He showed me a spoked wheel from a Bmw ,which he said were one of the hardest to true properly, something to do with the way the spokes cross not having the same pull on the rim. They take far longer to work on than conventional wheels. But it may be handy for folk to know he can do these

Thank goodness for this forum. I need my hubs and rims on my 30 Yr Adventure done up and didn't know where to take them. Just found this thread and best of all I live in Windygates!!! Never knew about Barry, but canny be closer than that.:thumb2

Great to know such craftsmen are on the go locally...

Glad to hear you have a result Doyle. Did you tell him about the Swiss 'wheel balancing act'. Guess the wheel must have bin oot of true all the time - mind you we kind of guessed that after a new tyre and balancing twice, still we had a nice ride around looking for dealers - well 3 of us did!!!! Lol
