...should I replace the mounting bolts too?

isn't there a modified bolt and thrust washer for the 1200?
if fact, i heard there was a whole new disc recently. best check with bmw dealer, i think.

Just got an "advisory" for disc wear and pad thickness (rear) on my MOT.
I was going to fit a new EBC disc and pads, as they are priced "competitively"... false economy?

AFAIK the mods to the mounting (a couple over the yaers) have been to stop squealing discs and (maybe?) warping - both mods though apply to the front only.
There is nothing wrong with reusing disc mounting bolts per se.
Chris - how much are the EBC discs- I've been hassling StEptoe for a while now but he still has none in.

Mines rear disk is below the min thickness but I'm skint. Gonna buy a 'Braking' wavy disk as they are cheaper than original BMW items, and will probably last longer than the original items too. hein Gericke sell them, IIRC they are £99 each.
Going to re-use the disk mounting bolts with a Loctite type threadlocker.
IMHO the original BMW disks are made of too soft a material and wear much too quickly. The rear pads are only organic, not sintered so I fail to see why wear rates are so high unless its due to the linked brakes?

Just ordered online:
Disc - £70.50
Pads - £14.95
P&P - £6.90
Total - £92.35
Ah well .... Netto baked beans for another few months.....![]()
