Just compared uk and irish prices on their pro torque wrenches. To buy their 8-60 and 60-300 costs 165 euro over here but only equivalent of 121 euro (£110) over there, 44 euro difference would be about the cost of a return flight to london?? Will it ever end? I think I'll just wait till I am over there sometime and pick up a set then.

Don't torque to me about ripoff.............

Wot a wrench

Your local Lidl (mine anyway) has the bigger T/W for about €25 at the mo'.....I'm not sure how accurate it is (fairly, I'm told) but you really only need it for the wheel bolts...?
Halfords do a really nice one in the lower range for about €60?.

It was the halfords pro ones I was referring to, somehow forgot to put the name in there, they got excellent reviews and are very accurate. The output flange on the airheads needs about 210 Nm and while I hope I won't be needing to do that job for a long time its always nice to know that the wrench will be suitable if called upon for such service. In the meantime I will make do with my 20+ year old draper( + conversion chart) which while calibrated in ft lbs has a range of about 14 to 108 Nm

dunno wot you all are gripeing about!...a nice wee early Sat run up the road an u have UK prices (Newry)......or if you're odering anything from the UK get someone with an address in the North, get them to post it down or collect...:moped:

Where was this? I have been looking out for Rukka for ages and not found any in Dublin. Ducati is listed as reseller on Rukka's website but they didn't have a single item when I went there.

When you become Irelandshire, a county of England similar to the Isle of Wight, all things will even out:augie:D

bought the Rukka in the Fatherland.
armax pants/jacket 1225 - incl. vat at 19%
same place where I bought my CS.
Didn't shop around at the time, probably cheaper now.

Ireland isnt the only rip off country you should try the prices in Australia. Most of my bike gear is bought from the US or UK as it is so much cheaper even with fairly hefty shipping charges.

Somebody somewhere told me that there is no VAT on safety wear in UK, where we pay 21% here, sobike gear is immediately 21% dearer here.

Ibought my suit in Hein Gericke in Belgium and the chap there told us that many English customers travel there because it's cheaper than Uk.

Kev got goretex boots in Belgium reduced to €100 last August, the same boots were reduced to £150 in Newry last month.:nenau

Everything is cheaper in Uk now, we buy very little here now cos we're over to the Uk so often visiting Kev's family.

Clothes and shoes are much cheaper over there. All you've to do is check out the price tags £10 still has € price of €15!

Bleedin' robbers!!!

I just might take you up on that kind offer, will let you know in next few days. I need an Ikea Mattress( slightly oddball size to fit my slightly oddball size Ikea Bed and no local stores have that size or price)I'm getting a courier to collect a mattress from Ikea Belfast and bring it here to me in Cork saving about 100 euro over the Ikea Dublin price( which would still have needed a courier at same charge)so will be seeing if he can pop into a halfords while he is up there and will know in next day or two if he is agreeable. A colleague of mine was fitting out a holiday house and saved almost two thousand euro by getting courier to bring stuff ( white goods and furniture) down from North. The whole thing is mind boggling.
