Ok where are all the GSers? Since Ive had my bike I havent seen one GS on the road, are you all on holiday or have you locked em away for the summer? Yeah I know 'Tricky' youve all gone offroad for the rainy season ;)

Happy riding

If you're bored try loitering along the A14 between St Ives and Cambridge around 0630 Monday to Friday. Mine is the saucy blue & white number :)

There all up here in sunny Scotland, cant move for them.

Now at home drying out after a flood dodging return from the European wetlands. Somebody :mcgun the :sunshine

I use mine bitually every day from Gt yarmouth to Norwich. Not quite 'the long way round' but it gets me to work.

Rode the furka pass last week. Just before i got caught in the light rain in Austria and Switzerland a few days ago!!!

From 11 am to 5 pm i counted no less than 26 1200GS's travelling in the opposite direction to me !! That's where they've bl**dy gone !! (Let alone all the other gs's)

Well worth the ride, but traffic was reasonably heavy. Lucky i had a nice view to keep me from overcooking the overtakes !!

Many many thanks to those who have posted;

a) Speed camera info for Europe through waypoint maps and overlay maps for Garmin (Navigator II) sat nav
b) Posted pictures of Alpine passes
c) Details of hotels
d) Roads to ride (La Tadorne in Piney was great !!) And they did not charge
me for a reserved room, when i did not show on my return leg due to the severe flooding in Austria/Switzerland/Germany - had to take a 5 hours detour via Munchen (Munich) cos routes to Switzerland (from Austria) were closed !!!
e) The roads not to ride !! (including the tempting shortcut avoiding the Krimmel waterfalls)

rgds,

Ian.

I sometimes use that road to commute to Bar Hill on my 1200, but not at that time - more like 8.45. Prefer to use the back roads, Fen Drayton, Swavesy, Longstanton, its twice the distance but far more fun.
