My youngest son has a CBT next month and I’m searching for the best / cheapest deals for him.

  • Where to purchase in UK or Europe?
  • Discounts - Including UKGSer subscriber?
He wants an adventure style helmet in a large and has his eyes on Airoh Commander 2 or a similar helmet such as a Arai Tour X4.

I don’t think he is too bothered about colour schemes, just the best deal possible.

I’ve spent sometime searching and it’s a minefield. 😵‍💫

Call Moto CENTRAL on the phone and talk to them. That's been my best deal for helmets....

Google is your friend. Or sometimes a wanted add on here. It’s nice to get a deal on something but remember if it seems very cheap ask yourself why. That £10 you save mightn’t be a bargain at all. JJH

No idea where you would go in France but in the UK

Motocentral Hinckley
Helmet City several locations in the South
Infinity Camberley
Fowlers in Bristol

Personally I’d only buy a helmet where the staff assisting are trained. Motocentral have been excellent in that regard.

Check out Helmet City, local to him. And you can use the discount code below for money off.

I'd go with fit over anything else (barring buying a £20 chinese piece of shite) Get him to try a few different makes, find the one that fits right, then do some googling to find the best deal. (I'm on my 3rd X-Lite...they just fit me so well)

I’ve bought several things but not a helmet from the Chichester branch and found them helpful. I have bought helmets from their West Bay branch who were knowledgeable and helpful.

I’ve recently got the Airoh Commander 2.

Purchased it from moto central who price matched it from fc moto : sportsbike shop wouldn’t do it for me as it wasn’t a uk based company.

Cracking helmet 👍

Thanks for the info and discount codes.

He has visited Helmet City, Chichester recently with my wife (also a full motorcycle licence holder for over a decade).
The wife measured our son’s head (59cm) before visiting Helmet City, who also measured his head and confirmed my wife’s measurements correct.
Stephen tried on several different branded helmets and concluded that Shoei doesn’t fit and feel right but Arai Tour X4 and Bell fits him well.
His favourite is the Airoh Commander 2 but they didn’t have a large to try and said that they would get a large in stock and let him know when it’s in store so he can pop in to try it on.

Here Here. I was at the Chichester branch a couple of weeks ago for a look around. They have a good amount of stock and are always very helpful.

I know Helmet City are not exactly sole traders, and they may or may not be the cheapest. But if they’ve put that work into helping him out, and getting a size in for him to try, they really deserve the sale.

I think the normal procedure is, use local shops to try stuff on.

Buy online and save 20 quid

Complain when your local branch closes.
