We're off to Spain/France sept, but I'm concerned about the fires and were they are exactly, as the routes we have were chosen as they are picturesque or were when we picked them  our intention is to ruff camp on piest and or camp sites. We really don’t want to be looking at scorched earth.

Our Route over of over 1000miles off road

Martes to Boltana
and two road books from Vibaction
RB1 Bossost to Port De Cabus
RB4 PAL to Sant Julla De Loria

Not wanting to waste our Ferry passage to Bilbao, we could divert to Morocco again:D

Just been chatting to my old man who lives south of Barcelona.

Currently the fires are along and just inland of the east coast, south of Taragona.

That is the Horta St. Joan fire, which was on the other side of the hills behind us. It is pretty much out now.

Other fires are near Valencia and there have been fires near Madrid.

Everything is tinder dry. The fig trees are going yellow. If you smoke, take your butts away with you. That way you know they have been put out properly. :) PB

Fires

I did some of trails near Andorra last year and am going back this to do more. A couple of times we were stopped using certain trails because of the risk of fire. Does anyone know if this is happening this year as the risk is even greater? Doing the Boucle d'Andorran this year (I hope!).

Timmo what route did you do and what time of year have got any pic's?

but most of all was it fun:thumb2

Pyrenees

We did some of the old smugglers trails between Spain and Andorra. Great fun. Will try and post some pictures.
