Anyone recomend a source of the dome/pan head 'torx' (T-20) screws used to fix the side panels on an R1200GS (08)?

I think they are M5 10mm long but have a 'built in' washer or flange to spread the load. Also not sure if they are stainless/chrome/titanium/gold etc.

I'm sure I could get some from my local BMW dealer, but I'm 'assuming' they would cost more than alternative sources (if there are any alternatives).

Any pointers greatly received.

Regards,

Glenn

M5's

I bought some last week in M5x25 for my TT Beak extension.

The actual size you want is M5 x 16 (looked on a parts fische) :D

I think they are flanged button screws. When i ordered them they came the next day. I was happy with them.

See what you think. BTW they are A2 stainless steel. £2.59 for 10 posted. Didn't think that was so bad considered.

Good find, I see they do other sizes too:thumb

I must learn not to shop/post after drinking alcohol. Turns out they don't have the 'torx' version. Not a big deal, I would have prefered to keep them all the same, but have settled for hex replacements.

Try the local dealer for them , you will be supprised at how cheap they can be at times, I have ordered a few bits and bobs from them and been taken aback when they say the pprice.

There was a guy on Ebay.DE that used to break new GS bikes Rudi i think.
Any how I bought an 07 gearbox off him. I emailed him back and told him to put all the bolts, clips and all the other odds and ends from a bike strip into a box and i would buy them. He charged €50 awfull handy having these as spares.
