Currently waiting for a set of ez outs to arrive, but if that fails then I shall be on the lookout for another solution!

Same thing happend to mine carefully drilled them out,retapped to M6 and fitted M6 button head SS bolts good luck.ps best to remove the castings from the bike before attempting this.

I bouhjt the support for the GPS but when I found the screws very tight I decided not to tempt providence; the bike had to go in for a recall so I asked the dealer to fit the support - which was done without apparant difficulty. A few days later I noticed bad cracks on the front of the screen where the two screws hold it. The dealer took one look at it .......said one word - "m...." and put a new screen on for me without charge.
I reckon that the (poor) mechanic left the torque spanner on the same setting that he had used to undo the 4 similar sized screws holding the support.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The screen support castings are now off the bike and soaking ready for an attack with ez outs. Patience is the key word!

Undoubtedly the screws sheared because of corrosion of the threads in the alloy. Soaking in penetrating fluid especially after drilling through the stud, will hopefully recover the situation. Better than £160 for a new assembly!
