Where do the Buells belong?

Yup, still here, still got mine and plan on keeping it for a long time yet. On a 2 week tour to Auschwitz in July, but not had much time to ride it over the winter/spring. Still loving it, still makes me grin, still the most confortable bike I've ridden. :thumb

To "U" or not to "U"?

that is the question.

Having moved to Oz, I've found a 2005 one (don't ask the price, they are scary here).

What should I look out for? Wheel bearings judging by the comments above; what else? My ageing memory says some electrical gremlins, but hope they're sorted by now.

All advice gratefully received.

That'a a lot better value than a big twin, not sure what a Sporty would cost. :nenau

A bit cheaper than a final drive too ;)

My Buell Uly was the best bike I ever owned, brilliant motor and tremendous fun! I toured on it solo and 2-up and Mrs Londog said it was MUCH more comfortable than my old R1150GS too.

Why did I sell it? I was seduced by the charms of a Tiger 1050, lovely bike, (now deceased), but I always regretted selling the Uly.

yeah, my Uly is definately a great touring bike. very comfy even on 400mls runs...

as for the electrical questions and what to look out for:
mine had no electrical issues yet -touch wood!
also wheel bearings seem to hold up ok. i am at just under 20k miles.

the only thing that went was the final drive belt , but that almost certainly down to wrong fitment after tyre change

so, go and test ride one and buy it whilst you can...they will for sure become more and more desirable...

time will tell.

Am thinking about it if the gs goes..

Took the plunge
