Well I'm off to France tomorrow (Cherbourg) and I bought a tag a few weeks ago.

I have seen mentions of people sticking it in their jacket pocket etc but has anyone left it in the little cubby hole on the top front of the fuel tank?? Does it still work in there (its only a plastic cap)

I don't want to fit it to the bike so wondered if it works in there?

Its one of these badges

I put mine in the front pocket of my tank bag and it mostly works. On the odd occasion it is not read, the machine will give you a ticket at an entry barrier. If it is not read at an exit barrier then press the button and shout - the operator will rescan, probably using extra power. This is a very rare occurrence and last year, only happened in Spain between San Seb and Bilbao. Worked fine in Normandie near Le Havre.

Mine is stuck onto the back of the Zumo, which comes off when parked.

Yeah I saw it comes off but I know I will forget it. I even left my brand new S23+ phone on display on there yesterday for about an hour cause I forget everything at the moment.....thankfully no one saw it!

Should be fine, mine works in my jacket pocket on the bike or just sitting on the dashboard in wifey’s car when we take it

Worst case scenario, if it doesn’t work in the cubby put it in a jacket pocket

I had a nasty accident a few years back and I would have been perfectly fine when I came off my previous bike if it wasn't for this little gps box I had in my pocket (smaller than the toll tag)

I nearly lost a kidney......I don't think I have ever been in so much pain as when I hit the floor (I was doing 15 mph tops) it basically stabbed me (no penetration thankfully) and to this day I don't carry anything in my pockets other than my wallet.

I am in two minds whether to take my tank bag so will have a rethink

The first time you use the tag, it can take a while for the system to wake up. So do not panic.

Why not just stick the little bracket on yr screen and clip it onto that?
Cause it's easily nicked

I don't want things stuck when I use it like 2 times a year
