Have to replace mirror unit this morning (cracked it filtering on way into work ..oops) , took off (low) seat on Adventure for tool kit....eh where is it? I am feckin useless I know.

tool roll should be strapped to the underside towards the rear of the seat. short or tall seats are the same base. No poofy little tool tray for ADV riders!
Or some tossers nicked your tools!
Feel sorry for 1200 riders they can't be trusted with spanners. Wouldn't go down well dirty fingernails at the salon!!

You had better feel sorry for us all then, coz 2005 GSA's do not come with a tool kit either!

Unless you have a nice friendly dealer that is...;)

Thats what the dealer informed me when a collected my new GSA a couple of weeks ago.
You basically get enough tools to replace a blown bulb, and no more punture repair kits either!

Apparently its to do with some tosser that tried to sue them coz he did a dodgy roadside repair, then blamed the tool kit:confused:
Saying that had he NOT have had any tools, then he would NOT have been tempted to try and repair it by the side of the road.

The answer.........take the tool kit away then.

Might be bollocking, I'm not to sure..............but there are no longer any "proper" tool kits on the GSA and thats a fact!

Unless the dealer just "might" be able to find you one that is.

Wanted: Name and location of said tosser. Object removal of head. He aint using it.

Sad In't it.

On the upside, you shouldn't need any tools to replace mirrors......for a long while I carried the right sized allen key in me pocket cos I have a tendancy for chucking my adv down tracks and dropping it in ditches......but it's dead easy to undo (revolve each one the way it would go if/when it goes when hit, ie clockwise on the RHS and counterclockwise on the LHS) (ops, should check this, not knocked off the LH mirror yet)......

Rather than digging around in a tool kit to replace or tighten, just shove a digit up the hole underneath to trap the allen bolt a little, then spin the mirror stalk around until it tightens enough to be stable...if it ends up facing the wrong way, loosen again, allow allen bolt to spin a little then repeat until position is satisfactory.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Even better still........................don't drop the bike in the first place!!

Thanks lads, mirror replaced, toolkit missing though..... the ba**rds! Just as an aside, I have totally fallen in love with the ADV...handling, comfort, looks...do BMW ever have to replace this fine machine with a new version? ........NO!
