OK, it's only 1 photo taken with a phone! So, if anyone can guess, they'll get some sort of medal

Clue: it's somewhere in the world:D

Whose world?
OK, I'll narrow it down. It's in Ireland
Meath county council been out filling pot holes again!
Don't be ridiculoushe road in the picture is much smoother than the average Meath Co Co repair job!
I know where it is ... but i dont want
to spoil it for the rest ...
so will say nothing...

but here is a clue ....
. --- ... --/ .. -./ --.. / --/ . . / ..-/ ... / -.- /
I'll be impressed if you know it!
I drove down about 2km of road with grass in the middle, through a few gates. It looks like a fantastic green lane - unless you're using tourances that have a thread dept that's probably not even the roal legal 1.6mm anymore:(

1.6mm on four wheels only 1mm on two

I'm probably below the 1mm mark at this stage (on the tyres thread dept - smart arse!) so I was sort of taking the piss.
Also, had a full tank of petrol on the GSA, so was getting worried about punctures
chickened out of it and turned back after about 4km. It wasn't rocky the whole way, but for some sections. Met some farmer woman walking it. She said the trail goes on for miles and it's driveable. I reckon when I get my new tyres i'l go back and do the whole thing.
I'll stick the GPS location up if anyones interested

If I mentioned the letters GL.... would I be close:nenau:nenau

No! Don't think so anyway.
Here it is. I was driving around the Sleive Blooms, and saw a sign for a "monastic site". Thought it was well off the beaten track, might be good for the photo rally. Anyway, drove down the road a few KM, didn't see anything. Where it ends on Mapsource there's a gate. Went through that, drove for another bit and got to another gate. They're all unlocked for hikers.
Met some woman and she said the monastic site is a well, and i passed it ages abo. She said the track goes right across the mountain. She sidn't seem to have a problem with a bike driving there.
I did the Mountrath to Clonaslee drive, it's fantastic. Clonaslee is a great town.

It's obviously not the one marked 'No motorcycles or quads' so ;)

There's any number of tracks & trails in yon mountains but the rangers are becoming very 'protective' of their patch. It's an 'environment park' don't ya know.
It's about the handiest place for me to go trail riding but I now only ride on tarmac there due to the hassle factor. Except the track to the masts that is - I think it's always open as all our telecomms providers & broadcasters have a presence there. The last bit is fairly rough & wet but it's worth it for the view on a clear day.

Didn't see any "no motorcycles" signs. it was a normal enough road up to the first gate, then there was a sign saying "go through gate, keep left and over bridge". it was only after that I saw a couple of hiking signs. the road was through fields, not a forrest.
Why the hell is there so many trails for hikers, but none for motorbikes! There was millions around the slieve blooms, you could see them down in the valleys, they'd be great on the bike.
Saw another one and it had one of those yellow forrestry gates across it, but it was open. was going to go up it (went to a mast on top of a mountain, a bit like kippure) but there was loads of cars around, all with dog trailers.

Good question. Mainly cos the walkers are better organised & more vocal than us bikers. I doubt the trail, trials & enduro riders would ever speak with one voice & that's what it would take. And we don't do ourselves any favours either - I was in the Galtees on Sunday & got chatting to a Garda who said he'd had complaints from walkers about 'fast motorbikes & quads'. Having said that, we were in the area all day & saw 2 quads and no walkers :nenau

Rumour has it that Coillte are considering a dedicated bike 'playground' in one of their forests but I think that's still some way off.

That's the one I mentioned. Well worth the run up. And the puddles will wash the bike :D As it doesn't go anywhere other than the masts I doubt you'd have hassle with walkers (never seen any there anyway). I'd recommend bringing binoculars if you could as you can see for miles.

Just found this pic of some GSers I spotted last winter. Doesn't look like it's all plain sailing :mmmm
