Please could you all recommend somewhere to get new tyres.

The dealers want 300 quid so I won't be going to them.

The place at Drakes Broughton springs to mind but not sure what they are like.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

tyres

moto-tyres.co.uk

all prices inc. delivery, sometimes they come direct from Germany etc

take them to your local tyre fitter who will fit them for £20 - £50

job done :thumb2

Last time I got tyres (middle of last year) I got them from Robsom Racing down in Shipston, details as follows

ROBSOM RACING
#B Brailes Industrial Estate, Brailes Road, Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire CV36 5AD
Tel: 01608-664122

For me (I've got a R1100RS, so have an 18inch rear tyre) they were cheaper as a ride in-ride out service and them to supply the tyres, as it would have been for me to get the tyres sent, then me take the wheels off the bike and take to my local motorcycle place for swapping them over..

Second The Tyre Shack (Robsom Racing) Mike is the guys name. Just done 6 tyres for me and my mates at cheaper than i could buy the tyres alone for. Nice chap as well.

I am a bit out of your way, but I paid £205 for a pair of Roadsmarts and could have had Tourance EXP's for £200 - fitted to loose wheels, I think they charge about £10 or £15 per wheel to remove depending on bike so still well under £250 a pair.

C & J Motorcycles in Droitwich. Not the cheapest but years of good service and care. I think I paid £240 for a pair of Tourances a year ago - ride in ride out.:thumb

Nice offer Nick, however Steve you should bimble down south when Geggers does another Maintance-day & learn to change your own tyres bud!

Greg I promise not to come if you do another one. :comfort

(thinking this is f800 section..greg wont read this! D'oh)

Steve, if you want i can supply you with tyres and show you how to change and balance them - I'll be able to do the tyres at a good price, and the instruction will be free.
:)

Thanx for all the advice :)

As I stated , Rip off BMW dealers wanted 300 quid from their loyal customers,

Honda dealers in Bromsgrove wanted £250

Tyre Shack was £230

Wheelhouse at Drakes Broughton were the best at £203 :)

W.A.S didnt bother to reply so we will never know.

Thanx for you kind offer Nick, but I neither have the patience nor inclination to start changing my own tyres. I would either hurt myself or anyone standing near :augie Plus, if I had fitted them I would never trust in the bike ever again...

So all I need now is the time to get them fitted , and nobody can help with that.

Steve

Steve
have you tried genesis in Bromsgrove?
Chris looks after all my tyre requirements.
Reasonable and very good service, worth a look.

Nick, I still need these tyres.

I am not concerned about beating any prices, I would rather just have someone I can trust do it without any hassle :)

If you can supply and fit for a reasonable price I will be happy for you to do it.

Do you have a garage or something ? In Malvern ?

Steve

Tyre recommendation in Warks

Maybe a bit of a hike from Studley, but I would recommend TW Tyres in Rugby to anyone, bike or car tyres. Family run firm, used them for years and trust them with my bike. Think a couple of the guys there have GSs / RTs

Booked them to be fitted on Saturday at Drakes Broughton.

Had to have the XPs as they could not get the older versions.

It is about time though, my tyres are like racing slicks now :augie

Sorry Steve, only just visited the site again today!

Its too late now i know, but bear me in mind for next time :)
I operate a small (but rapidly growing!) business in Malvern, i offer all the usual services i.e servicing, repair, tyres, etc etc.
