Where to fill up BEFORE catching the Chunnel TO France

No need to worry a bout having a full tank as when you come off the tunnel there is a garage on your left as you exit the terminal & it’s card payment so it’s 24/7 🏍️👍
I seem to hear read echo within this thread of late :blast.

I did mention this filling station but it might well cost maybe 70-80 pence more than filing up in England and that could quite well ruin ones tour apparently.

You could test your language skills and patience with crap IT at this French government website. It provides a search engine to check on fuel prices, here :
https://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/
I suggest using the "Par Department" feature; Calais is in the department 62 Pas De Calais . Use the button "Voir la liste ..." to see a table of participating stations and click on the arrows to sort by something useful - price, for example.
To compare prices, divide the € by 1.15. Today , SP95-E10 is around €1.65 (equivalent to £1.43) in France.
The only peope that use motorway petrol in France are the rich, desperate and uneducated. You can normally find fuel 15¢ or more cheaper within just a few km of junctions serving towns.

Close to the Dover ports/tunnel the cheaper petrol will be found at Ashford, Morrisons on Hythe Road or Tesco Crooks Foot - both not far from J10.

I'm obviously going to have to change my ways. I generally fill anywhere when I need fuel whilst away.

No, don't.

Albeit some planning is required, nothing beats seeing where each day takes you.

Yes, you need to ensure you're not empty and that the others in the group are balanced in terms of distance, but never do it to save pennies. You can save much more staying at home and not burdening others with your tightness.

Yeah, but you don't get the Clubcard points there! tesco💸

I always pop across to Cookstown in Ireland to fill up before heading to Europe as it consistently has the cheapest fuel in the U.K.
Penny saved is a penny earned my Nan taught me 👍🏻 🤪

I'm putting this thread on ignore. If there are people who cannot plan their time on the bike, bollocks to them.

No no...
Perhaps we could enlarge the scope in order that intrepid travellers can relax about fuel issues prior to every possible point of departure from these shores?
For example where is petrol to be found in Newcastle before boarding the Amsterdam ferry? Or Hull? Where to get petrol in Cairnryan? Or Fishguard? Heysham? Biker friendly fuel stops!
I can see potential for a sticky!
