I picked up a used and re conditioned 45 gallon barrel and lid but after some pondering and research lot are saying not to use a barrel that not new

reason being is what nasty crap is in them. this one came frm company we use in work and he told me it could have been waste water right up to nasty chemicals in it as they re use them all the time

So now i am thinking not worth risking it

Ideally if like a new one.

plenty of used "food" barrels near me but that nasty RED LINER is a bitch to remove so decided i will go brand new and that way i am 100% safe

barrel BBQ?

i just get them from work - used to contain jet II aviation turbine oil, the other skydrol aviation hydraulic fluid.

Properly washed out and the paint removed from inside so shouldnt make any difference on its previous contents.

You didn't even know what was in your burgers and curries for years...so why bother whats in the drum now....

what about a filing cabinet? seems a cleaner and safer way...?

or any old steel cabinet, just seems cleaner than some manky old drum... I'm sure I saw one converted at some do I went to...

bit of a shame I threw a whole load of steel lockers away a few months ago.... but they can't be much money try gumtree or preloved or one of those office clearance places....?

what's the worst your gonna find in an old filling cabinet apart from a half empty bottle of scotch and some knickers from christmas do when the secretary got banged on the board room table....

old 45 gallon drums whole different can of worms.... cararseanagenic toxic shit that will kill or give you cancer which will kill you slowly.... or why not built a smokey shed...?

I guess I'm a bit too far away from you for you to collect. :augie

The red liner has be blasted out.

Well if u have new barrel in uk i am sure il find sum1 wit van

Think ill hav just ring round. Drum handy as lot d grill tacks drop in nicely

Try a boat builder/fibreglasser for an old acetone barrell as there'll be little or no residue and if there is it can be flushed with water I reckon.

Will have think it over

Think fir sake health wil ho new

Wife has had past mecical issues so last thing want do is poison her more haha

Garden centre in Midleton sells steel dustbins for backyard burning. It has a smoke funnel built into the lid. Excellent piece of kit. Ask in your local garden centre, they might have them too.

Yes but they are galvonised which when used cook meat is seriously toxic with heavy metals

what about a copper water tank? I saw one in a skip today and the inner pikey wanted to stop and have it away....:D

Plan doing serious smoking in it so want b safe

John...don't be silly, smoking is bad for you and my guess is smoking in a confined space will be very bad for ya:rob

Give them up and use the drum as a piggy bank to collect all the money you'll save not smoking:D:D
