Where to go for a long weekend in Nov/Dec

Having had a successful 3 week trip around Ireland and Scotland, we still feel the need for another trip before Christmas. Was thinking of Normandy or Brittany for a long weekend towards the late November or mid December catching a ferry from Plymouth. Is there anywhere else that would be good at that time of year? Could leave Wed night, returning Sun night. Anyone else travelled at that time of the year and not regretted it?

OK, I might get some flak for this as it's not on the bike, but how about taking one of those cheapo flights to Krakow or Prague, Vienna, Sofia or somewhere like that?

You'll get one for 50 quid return and have a fantastic, cheap and different long weekend with friendly people, a warm welcome and find loads of cheap unusual xmas prezzies to return with

If you get some shit weather in France in December, it'll be miserable.
