Evening lads, just spotted a good deal on the ferry from Dublin for an overnight trip for myself and the better half to Holyhead so decided to snap it up.

Probably going to concentrate on the Snowdonia national park area, what do you all recommend we see for the flying trip?

When I was over in the peaks last month, I took a spin down the A5 from around Wrexham to Bangor so will be hitting that again. Never seen all the scenery in Wales before so that was a real eye opener.

Looking forward to seeing more so I thought I'd ask the experts. What's unmissable? Cheers! :beerjug:

I don't know the correct spelling, but Betwsy-coed is a nice place to visit, shops, tea rooms....if you go down near the train station there is a biker friendly cafe.

There is also Swallow falls near to Betwsy that is good to take pictures.

All this is on the A5. I used to pass through these places on the way to the in-laws who live on the coast.

Have a great trip and enjoy the scenery

Heres a nice route or two on mapsource, pick the bones out of it!
You could just go South on the Coast A496 and then A493 onto Aberwristwatch,Devils bridge, and then do the Elan Valley, Then back Rhayadar, St Harmen, Llanidloes onto B4518 towards Pennant onto Pandy and Pentre-Celyn (A lovely little C-road but watch for low flying pheasants) join the A470 back to North Wales Via Lake Bala/Vrynwy. A lovely days ride loads of superb Scenery and roads to die for, watch out for the rozzers up North Not so bad as you go South :augie Simples :thumb2

Thanks to both of you. I had planned on going up the A5 as far as Betws-y-coed (think that's right?!?) as that's the way I came down last time but was kinda lost from there. Great info, I'll be digging around that route file later on. Thanks again. Just need to schedule some good weather now.

Not that I'm an expert of welsh roads, but the A4086 Pass of Llanberis - Caernarfon to Capel Curig was from Britians best drives program
