I'm sorry if this has already been asked some time ago, but I don't know where to find the answer amongst the 100's of threads.

BUT, I want to get an Autocom fitted to my bike. My hubby has a V-Strom, and all his stuff is fitted under his seat, the Autocom unit / the radio / his mobile etc . . . .however, when we looked under my seat, we noticed that there isn't really a lot of space:rolleyes:

Where do you chaps/esses have your Autocoms and all the bits on your 1200GS?? :nenau

I want to get things fitted asap you see.

Thanks in advance.

I think most, including me put the autocom above the battery, under the seat. It is secured by the metal bracket and elastic band (plus the velcro if needed) that is meant to be used to hold the instruction manual for the bike.
The tranceiver (if you have one) can be placed in several places, mine is where the tool kit goes.

To wire it in, the positive wire can be soldered on to the back of the BMW aux plug under the seat. Cut some of the shrouding off the wire, then solder, then cover in self-amalgomating tape. (I think there is even a connector available, to save doing this). The negative wire, straight to the battery.

Hope that's of some help. I got advice on fitting mine off the guys on here..

Yep that's where I have mine. Been on since October 2006 and no problems at all. I use a autocom Radiobag for the tranceiver as like to be able to switch channels if need be while riding.

Just fitted a new one to mine. The autocom box is a bit bigger as it now has space for a battery (useless idea IMHO) so I took the bracket for the handbook off and velcroed it straight to the tank. B2B radio is in the topbox, not ideal but at least it's upright and gives a good range.

southport superbikes are fitting mine next week..................so will send a pic of where it is when they finish............................:o :o

So you would not like us to sell any VOX operated portable systems then?? Our Pro M1's and Pro-7's have been sold like this for 6-7 years well enough and these are bigger in size than the Active Plus's
