Hi folks,
Myself & Mrs Big Lee & no.1 child are popping over to France next week for 10 days camping :D I plan on visiting the Normandy beaches & we`re going to St Malo but apart from that we have no plans other than camping for a couple of nights in each location & having a trip out.
So, can anyone point out any must see`s in that area , mapsource waypoints would be handy too :thumb , and any roads that must be travelled for scenic purposes bearing in mind I`m in the car :o

Thanks for any advice :clap

Mont St Michel is the obvious one. I'd also recommend the last restaurant on the right as you're heading for the causeway over to Le Mont. I think it's this one.... La Fermette BPJ. 42 Route Mont Saint Michel 50170 BEAUVOIR Tél. : 0233600328.

Bon vacances....:)

Really nice municipal campsite at Falaise.

It's sits under the walls of William the Conqueror's castle. Nearby is a brilliant 'Falaise Pocket' museum, the eateries are within walking distance and all of the Normandy battlefields are a short trip away.

Very good WW2 interpretative museum at Arromanches also good grub in The Marine Hotel there (just beside the museum). Also another good museum at Pegasus Bridge, S of Ouistreham. Keep your ticket, get in half price to both.

I used to go to St. Malo ever month when I lived in Jersey. If you like seafood then go to Cancale just outside St. Malo for excellent restaurants.

There is also a great karting track on the coast road just past Cancale.

Also worth a trip down to the wonderful town of Dinan only a few minutes down the road.

agree with Sid.

If you go to Cancale, from St Malo, make sure you take the coast road, which is stunning and very picturesque.Couple of big sweepers which are great on a bike-oops,forgot,sorry !!

The kart track (Karting des Nielles ) is just out of Cancale and head left.We go every year for a muck around-blooody fast if you ask for the pokey ones.

The coastline from Normandy beaches to St Malo is very bland,as it is basically just one large bay, with a huge tidal range.

If you have time I can thoroughly heading further west to the Cote Granit Rose which is centre around Perros Guirec ,NE of Brest.

Now that really is stunning :

with loads of camp sites, not that I'm into the canvas, myself.

Might even bump into you as I'm over there myself tomorrow, heading to Germany for a week on the GSA
