On our way back to UK we are looking to stay overnight around 70..100 miles from Calais. If anyone has any recommendations I would be pleased to hear them.
We will be traveling up from Troyes area.

Thanks

St Quentin, might well suit you.

=====

Beaten to it, twice.

Snooze and you lose.

This circle is 100 miles (as the crow flies) from Calais. As you are coming from Troyes, I have assumed you’ll be travelling somewhere within the two red tramlines. You can see how well St Quentin might work.

Now it’s your go.

Using this link, zoom the map in and out and look at towns which might suit you and the suggestions Google makes vis-a-vis hotels, finding one which might suit you.

the soho hotel london... nice, very nice actually west end, shaftsbury Av. see a show... and they speak english amongst other languages

Soho Hotel, 4 Richmond Mews, London W1D 3DH

noted try Etretat, Northern France... it's a quiet and rather overlooked place...

now need to check it's within the 100 miles range

fuck it, just outside the ring.... 100 miles ina straight line 149miles by road

If you’re in Saint Quentin

Interesting true story about 4 British soldiers who got stuck behind enemy lines and hid in the French village of Villeret, near to Saint Quentin, until they were betrayed and shot

The book:

They’re buried here

there's a BFO war memorial just across the River Somme from the Ibis hotel I mentioned above

if only someone had posted a map with a BFO circle with a 100 mile diameter showing Etretat outside said circle and somewhat west of the direction of travel.

Would you like to stick or twist?

At just over 50 miles from Calais is a Campanile at Fouquières-lès-Béthune (campanile.com)
It's a stone's throw off the A26 so very convenient.
I've stayed there a few times.
It has a restaurant and as an overnight stop is absolutely fine.

We often stop at this place on our trips, basic, clean, has a restaurant and bar and is two mins off the motorway. Just outside your distance but not by much:

Perhaps the OP could let the UKGSer massive, know what he has in mind by way of a hotel for the night? An F1? A chain? A bijou gem, known only to a select few? The George Cinque?

Ain’t that some shit :nenau

Seems the Kyriad in Saint Quentin is now an Ibis Styles and the Campanile in Laon is now a Kyriad

Done that one a fair few times too

I've stayed in that Kyriad near Laon when it was a Campanile. A certain poster on this forum binned his ZX10R in the car park

But yes, the parent companies Louvre & Accor do seem to change the brand of their hotels frequently, presumably after they have had a spate of poor reviews. I'm staying in the Campanile at Reims Cathedral in May. Last time I used it, the branding was Quality Hotels.
