Where to stick the toll road tag??? Off tonight....

Hi - I am very pleased with myself, having ordered a liber-t tag for the French tolls.

I was planning to stick it in my chest pocket, but on reading the instructions see there are quite specific guidelines for attaching it to a certain part of the windscreen.

What has anyone else (successfully) done? Does it work in a pocket?

It works in the top pocket of my leather. I took the car one off, and carried it on my trip to Mandello a few years back. No bother. Do make sure you go through the right lane though. Some are “no bikes”.

(The instructions re the windscreen are to ensure it is not masked by heating elements and other stuff in your car windscreen)

Thanks, that's really helpful, and way more convenient than sticking it on the bike.

Yes I have seen the notes re NOT using the height restricted lanes.

I’ve put mine the pocket the end of the left sleeve. It seems more open to the overhead scanners.

Put mine in a chest pocket and it seemed to work ok.

What did catch me out was when there's a barrier, sometimes you need to be almost touching it before it goes up.

the windscreen specific stuff is just for cars with laminated screens. This shields the signal so the device has to be placed in a specific area that is unshielded

for the bike, I have used a chest pocket, sleeve pocket or front pocket on my tankbag.

Mine worked fine in side pocket of tank bag.

In a small ziploc bag in chest pocket (LHS) as that's where the sensor is at the Peage.
Only once did I have to lean back slightly for the tag to register

Thanks again for those rapid responses, yes chest pocket inside a heavy leather jacket and it worked a charm.

What a revelation, why did I not buy one of these years ago?? Saved the whole traditional gloves off, pocket unzipped, wallet out.... etc etc faff.

My road travel jacket has no chest pockets. I use a small bag that can be velcro strapped to the screen’s bracket. It’s commonly used in Italy for the Telepass badge.

Inexpensive and works perfectly.
You can take the tag off at the end of the day (if it bothers you) easily and you don’t have to strap random stuff to your arms

I have something similar for mine. I have occasionally had to wave my arm around for the sensor to detect it especially at one gate on the A89. The 30kmph lanes always work fine.
