Does anyone here know if/which 1150 motor come out with black rocker covers and more especially for my needs black bolts? I thought there was a 1150 Rockster with a black engine/cover but now I cant find it to get the part number.

My local Beemer mechanic agrees but as of the weekend couldnt remember either.

Im getting 1150gsa rocker covers soda blasted and powerdcoated gloss black I thought it would suit to have black bolts.

Cheers,

Andy

I wonder how powdercoating will cope with the stresses of removing the bolts for valve adjusting/checking.

I replaced mine several years ago with stainless.

I think it was the 1150 Rockster which had the black bolts..........

I don't think powder-coating is the way to go with bolts - I think you need to get the bolts PVD treated (Physical Vapor Deposite) for durability.

Should be someone who can do that?

The Rockster has a unique part number for its rocker bolts - 11 12 7 654 223 - which suggests they are different from the standard ones...

Mike

EDIT - A quick check on Google images shows that they are not black...
