Hi im after a Textile suit for all weathers , which is also waterproof , but I cant afford the gortex ones ie Rukka and the like .

I have heard that RST and REV do good ones , and also the alpinestars are quite good , but warmth and waterproof is a must , so if you have any ideas and reviews of any good products your advice would be great :beerjug:

Your going to be looking at a higher end suit with zip out liners and such like. In my opinion you can't beat Goretex there are cheaper options than rukka out there maby look trough the for sale on here for good second hand kit. Ride mag is quite good as a guide with their best buys. Personally I don't like removable waterproof liners. What about a middle range suit with a 1 piece waterproof over suit? It's asking a lot to get trough 4 season suits on a budget. Que rants about stuff bought in 1978 and still going strong. Well they don't make stuff like that any more. JJH

I would try to pick up a good quality second hand one off here The problem with cheaper makes is they do not give adequate protection in the event of an off just my 2p

I have the RST Adventure suit which has re-movable liners and back protector + all the usual armoured areas. It is brilliantly spec'd with loads of useful extras.
I find it very comfortable and is excellent value for money.
This is a high quality suit at a fraction of the price of other "premier" makes.
Definitely worth a look.

Just treated myself to this Rev-it suit

Rev'it Poseidon GTX Textile Jacket / Trousers , about £1k for the suit.

A 3 seasons suit with the goretex bonded to the outside of the textile (no saturation) removable thermal liners and effective vents on the jacket and trousers.

There are bargains out there. I bought a Rukka's SRO suit from eBay for £420, it was a year old when I got it and have been using it for 6 years now with no faults/leaks etc, washed twice, looks the same as when I got it.

Klim Overland jacket and trousers might be worth a look. Need a few extra layers in the winter months, but no insulation for the summer months and if it's like the Traverse set I have, then fairly good ventilation. Not cheap, but not Rukka prices.

I've just ordered my wife a new Rukka suit, jacket and trousers from bikerland.de

Paid £480 plus £15 postage.

I have the Lindstands Qattara jacket with their TT trousers. I wouldn't call it an all season suit but unless its really cold then it does the job. In heavy rain I wear a Richa Rain Warrior layer over the top. In the cold I layer up underneath. But I do plan on buying another suit especially for the winter. So for most of the time my Lindstrands is great.

I have RST and Richa jackets and trousers, both the cheaper end of the market, both with removable thermal and waterproof liners (in jacket and trousers) I ride all year round for work and pleasure, and neither one has ever let me down.
In warmer times when the liner(s) are at home I take a cheap (Peter Storm) waterproof jacket and trousers with me - 20 quid from Blacks/Millets - to throw on if it rains, this has never let me down either.
