Which alternator belt?

For a 2005 1150 Adventure? Everything I've read says it should be the shorter, 4PK 592 but when I bought a spare the dealer gave me the longer, 4PK 611. The bike is currently fitted with the longer belt (just checked) and the tension is correct although the adjustment appears to be at, or close to, the limit. So can I use either belt

I believe 4 strand 610mm belt is ideal - seems to me the shorter one my just be too tight and place extra strain on on the pully and adjusters.

Hi, I have had a look at my EPC and it looks like you should have the 4PK592 part number 12 31 7 681 841. This is for GSA from 07/03, upto 07/03 you should be using 12 31 1341 779 but it dosent give to the PK part number. The reason for this is that there 2 different pulleys for the dates above.

if its servo+abs you need the longer 611mm belt
