Fit a 611mm belt. Make some marks around the alternator mounting points to indicate where it was positioned before you released it if you thinks it's necessary. I didn't bother and simply applied pressure until the belt felt taught, and it still dosen't squeal.

Whats the point in marking the alternator mounting points ? you're meant to adjust the belt by tensioning the alternator once it's fitted. ?? A "how to" picture post in the [URL="http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81897"]FONT[/URL] of wisdom. And you'll also see pictures of the two different alternator pulleys as mentioned in the previous posts in this thread.
