Which Crash Helmet ?

Schuberth C£

Well I just retired my Arai RX-7 Corsair in favour of the new Schuberth C3. I already owned a Schuberth S1 Pro for a week but couldn't put up with the weight and claustrophobic feeling so bought the Arai instead.

The C3 is smaller and lighter than the C2, has an integrated sun visor and works brilliantly.

It is supremely quiet and comfortable with absolutely minimal buffeting and the flip up is quite magical. It is so easy to use and gives you a real sense of freedom.

The dealer got my £400 squids with nary a bleat.

I wouldn't chose a make of lid by just recomendation alone, I was lucky as both my BMW Carbon Evo lid and my Tour X fitted perfect.

Me niether, just trying to get a general feel about some of the lids out there.

ive had both tourx and the shoei multitech and they both did the job they where supposed to do but for me, the arai was the best, the shoei oressed to nmuch on tmy forehead and was too uncomfortable so i sold it to a bloke at work for the smae price as i bought it
now have a tourx 3 motard in silver and its almost a comft as an arai rx7 i had a few years back and mopre practical cos of the peak,

entirely depends on which fits the best, if it dont fit right, dont buy it! safe yourself the money !

Dunno if it helps but - I have a Shoei XR 1000 and a tour x 3 both bought at similar times and I actually prefer the tour x - always pick it up first. For me, I reckon the noise levels are about the same but the venting in the tour x is WAY better for those "steamy" moments, plus the periperhal vision is better.

Fit and finish wise the Arai is better, I think.

All IMHO:)

Schuberth C2.

Not sure if it's of any interest but I have a mint C2 that I just cant get on with.

I bought it to wear on a tour of Ireland in the Summer after I fell in love with Flip fronts when a friend gave me a second hand Nolan N102 that was really comfy but just didn't feel that it would protect me properly.

Anyway I bought the Schuberth but it's probably too small and gives me a headach if I wear it for too long.

It's done about 1,500miles over a weeks use and I have not worn it since as I always pick up the Nolan or my Arai in preference.

It's Anthracite in Colour and a size medium, it's never been dropped although I did clean the visor with detergent and removed the anti fog coating so you might want to buy another visor but I have managed as its clean and clear with no scratches.

Before I put it on Ebay I will offer it here (£175.00 posted thats a £100 less than I paid for it)

PM me if interested.

Hi
I'm looking for a new lid, which i may buy at the show, if there are any deals on?
Narrowed it down to 3 and would be interested in anyones views on these.

Schuberth c2

Shoei multitech

Arai tour x3

Comfort, ease of use and noise levels.

Ta Steve

All good helmets, you may want to look at Shark too.

Which one should you get? Simple, look at what you have already said, "Comfort, ease of use and noise levels".

The first two you can work out for yourself. IMHO, noise levels depend on so many things, your height, the screen type and angle, etc. Get the first two criteria right and get a good set of ear plugs!!! :thumb

I have a system 5 that is great for touring due to the flip capability and it's warmer due to less drafts but I do prefer my Arai Tour Cross.
As mentioned before there are loads of good helmets but it depends on the individuals head shape for a comfortable fit and the type of bike and rider position.

The Schuberth C2 has been replaced by the C3 now and BMW are bringing out a system 6 early next year as well as a carbon enduro, (that will be cheap).

The following link shows picures of the new helmet
