Which Daytona boots for winter use?

I have a trusty pair of Non-Stop GTX's that are great but a little thin/light for winter use.

I've been looking at the Daytona model range with the idea of getting something a little heavier/warmer. I prefer boots that are quick / easy to put on and take off, and that don't come too far up your leg.

I'm struggling to tell the difference between the Travel Stars, Road Stars and M-Stars without seeing them all in the flesh. Can anyone point me in the right direction???

Travel Star GTX here. 2 and a half years daily use and they're still waterproof and warm. :thumb2

My first pair of Daytonas were the Highway GTX.

These are excellent boots but just too hot for trips to southern Europe, what with the wraparound thinger.

I bought a pair of non-stop GTXs for these trips. Plus, recently acquired a pair of Rainbow GTX which are great when riding in jeans.

So, my recommendation is to get the latest version of the Highway boots: they seem to be on v3 now. http://www.daytona.de/english/boots_e/gore.html
They come in a wide fitting which means you can get some thermal socks on in comfort.

got a pair of trans-open GTX in the post today from fc-moto.de. am heading around ireland this weekend in them, so no doubt there'll be some pretty good rain to try them out in!

As above Trans open GTX from moto.de

100% waterproof unless it comes over the top:D

Travelstar GTX from moto.de for me. Plenty warm enough for winter and I saved over £80 buying direct from Germany! :thumb

Travel Star GTX for me. Trans Open steelie toes will, I know, shred my seat one day,

Did you know that Daytona re-furbish old boots? My older, more knackered pair, were sent back for a re-furb following zip failure after 3 years v hard work, For not much cash they returned with new outer soles, Gore Tex, zips and velcro. Not much from the originals actually, but stunning value as the boots are around £240 full chat.

FWIW I have a pair of Daytona Non-Stop GTX too, which I have had for over three years, and I wear them all year round - whatever the weather - and they have never been too cold or too hot (I just wear different socks). Apart from a few scuffs - from heel guards - they are showing no signs of wear, either.

So maybe just look at different combinations of socks?

 You mean you don't have 5-6 diff pairs for varying conditons?? How do you do it??

Are you a true Tosser then? :D

I got myself a pair of Daytona Evo Riders GTX last year, there the best boots I have ever owned, comfortable, great protection and fully waterproof. I got them from this guy who seemed really good to deal with.
