Hi looking for some engine bars for my 04 GSA.

Narrowed it down to either the Touratech ones or the SW MOTECH ENGINE BARS from Nippy Normans which are substancaily cheaper.

Has any one on the site bought and Fitted the Nippy Norman ones and if so what are your thoughts on them.

Many thanks :thumb

Hi Paul,

I have just fitted the SW bars from Norms. Im very pleased with them and they look pretty standard fitment on my silver GSA. You do need to remove the tank to fit them. It is a very close fit where the bracket goes behind the front shock and I had to turn the spring to prevent it rubbing when the forks are fully extended. Other than that they have got to be the best value bars out there. :thumb

I have just ordered some Hepco & Becker engine bars from motobins

Thanks for the info.

Have you any photos that you could post on the site of the SW bars?

Question on GS1150Adv mod.

GS 1150 Adv. 2 sparks. Change the air filter for a K&N, removed the chatalityc convertor and changed the snorkep(air intake) for a bigger one. The issues is that the bike between 5k rpm and 6.5 rpm get into a slowdown if you gas it.

Any advice?

Thanks

This is my first forum by the way so I hope I'm doing the right procedures.

Eerrrrm, almost.....someone will move you...

Bin the new filter and use the OE one - utter waste of money performance wise on this bike, and some say positively harmful. That should clear the problem.

got some sw motech ones over the xmas period , had them on a a week , look solid enough ,

Loads of pic here mines only a standard gs not an adv , but the only difference is the bottom mounts due to the adv having a diff sump guard

didnt have to take the tank of mine to fit em , was a bit tight but nothing that is impossible

the top bar fits onto the frame spar thingy , i rekon if u have a big smash it would write the bike off as the frame may split or crack , but that kinda smash the bike would be the last of your worries!

in the summer i know im gonna have probs with them , i can pretty easily get the rocker covers down and these stick out more so im gonna dig these in a few times i rekon!

oh and i know the bikes filthy , ive just finished a 2000mile week in shitty weather , ile give it a hose down at the weekend! maybe

My 03 GSA had a flat spot at the same rpm as yours. I fitted a K&N and the larger inlet duct bit didn't go for the Y piece, it made things much better but I could probably do with a better solution long term.
