Sorry, maybe I should have done more research here, but ran out of steam ... Want to buy my first rider to pillion intercom, am on limited budget (say £150), doesn't have to be new (so happy to go to ebay), but what do I go for. Both helmets full face, want to be able to play my iPod into it, if poss, and don't have a doctorate in engineering (meaning, if you tell me about how great yours is, was it difficult/idiot proof to install). Any source of where to get it (apart from ebay appreciated).

Had a look at the Autocom 200, which looked good, but obviously not sure about quality of sound etc.

thanks for your help

Martin

We chose Starcom - works well at all speeds and for us it was just a matter of stick it under the seat and hook it to the battery, plug the leads in and go. I leave it on the bike all year round and it just works :thumb (You can get some good deals on them as well right now, and UKGSer sponsors get 10% off at Starcom)

Plus sides were ease of mounting on the 1150 and clarity of sound, downsides possibly are the plugs are quite small.

The alternative would be Autocom.

Have a search loads you will find loads more information on this site.

I Use Intaride. Now I have the new Evo but haven't connected it yet, the old RP1 worked fine. They have a lot going for them, good value, big plugs, simple to use and a great customer service:thumb

I do have the new Intaride Evo system and Im very happy with it. It compares favourably with the Autocom Pro system. It took me all of 15 mins to throw it into the bike and about and 15 mins to fit the speakers/mic into each helmet. Its also fairly complete with all the wires and leads you need included already.

It does all what you're asking for but the price is £185. If thats just a bit too much, the Autocom Kit 150 Duo fits the bill too at £150.

Cheers,

Mike

I use an autocom, bike mounted and powered, with a kenwood radio for bike to bike mounted in top box with aerial on top box lid, fantastic range upto 5 km, pm me if you want photo's
