Which Jesse's???

Hello,

I just picked up a Black 1200GS and was consdering just getting a Jesses top box now and then getting the side cases down the line. But while reading the Vendor forum I read about the free top case with side case purchase.

I'm in, only I don't know what color as all 3 will probably work with my combo. I need you opinions on the best option.

I have a black tank and beak, silver aluminum side panels, and grey plastic front side panels. I'll attach a pic for full clarification.

Get light grey IMO. Any scratches on black leaves a white mark. Even greasy hand marks show on the black.

The Black Cab I hit while filtering failed to leave more than an easily removable black smear on my black Jessies.

Having had light silver, I would say black would be more practical for the interior. Make sure the problem with bracing of the rear compartment is sorted before going for the top box.

I am told that if the bags are black on the outside, the contents can get REALLY hot on hot sunny days.

I spoke with the folks at Jesse earlier in the week. There is a new mount for the "rear compartment" (not to be confused with a top box) that will be available by Monday - note that this revised version is for people running the rear compartment WITHOUT Jesse side bags or Jesse side bag mounts.

I've had the black bags for over 32k miles/heat has not been aproblem. Warm yes/hot no.

Silver is the colour to go for (Red R1200GS). Jesse are really strong panniers - dropped it, heavily loaded, in the underground car park of the Holiday Inn Sarajevo when I thought I had the sidestand down - no damage!! Temperature was 40deg C and my gear, even on the exhaust side, had no problems. The silencer can rotate and rattle against this pannier. Take care when mounting and give yourself some clearance. The BMW exhaust clamp is a bit on the big side so modify it using a file and put some shim material (strip of Coke can) between the pipe and the silencer. Use this as an excuse to buy an aftermarket can

Ditto to what wilbjr21 said both on the colour silver for Jesse luggage, and, the mods to get the OEM muffler clamp to tighten properly.

I have searched for it but never found the offer you are refering to.
Is that from Jesse?

Could anyone point me in the right direction as I have been pondering on getting Jesses?

The free top box is only available to US customers, I think. Worth trying Kiwi Bob though.

IMHO Silver are the nicest.
