I bought my Garmin Quest about 6 months ago from PC World. I paid top dollar for it (circa £329.99 IIRC :spitfire ) The Mapsource which it uses is 6.3 and the copyright is 1999-2004. Anyone know if I should have got a more updated Mapsource? I can't access any of Whatton's Waypoint Files.

MapSource (the route planning program on the PC) you can upgrade from www.garmin.com at no charge.

The map itself is probably City Select V6. This you can upgrade free of charge to the most current version at the registration date. This means V7 if you registred your unit 6 month ago.

If you never registred your unit, do so now and you can upgrade to map V8 at zero cost.

Just login at www.garmin.com with your Cupon Code and you will be told what version of the map you are entitled to.

Ronno, have you registered your Quest on-line with Garmin?

If you haven't, you should be able to get City Select V8 free of charge (the mapping/routing/info bit of software that goes on your Quest)- just done it for a mate who didn't realise :thumb
