Here is the recommended list - we have frequently given this information out at the technical update meetings and the following link should take you to the most recent bulletin on oil for the K1200 & F650 on the MIC.

Oil recommendations for current range of BMW bikes in the UK are as follows;

R series (boxers) Castrol Act > Evo GP 20/50w

K series (except K1200LT) Castrol Power 1 GPS 10/40w (Please note, Castrol Power 1 / GPS semi-synthetic oil can only be used after the bike has covered a minimum of 6000 miles, prior to this Act>Evo / GP 10/40 mineral oil should be used)

K1200LT (and old K series) Castrol Act > Evo GP 20/50w

F series Castrol Power 1 GPS 10/40w (Please note, Castrol Power 1 / GPS semi-synthetic oil can only be used after the bike has covered a minimum of 6000 miles, prior to this Act>Evo / GP 10/40 mineral oil should be used)

G series Castrol Power 1 GPS 10/40w (Please note, Castrol Power 1 / GPS semi-synthetic oil can only be used after the bike has covered a minimum of 6000 miles, prior to this Act>Evo / GP 10/40 mineral oil should be used)

Oh,ok.Works on mine....it really just goes over the point about putting GPS in the K1200S after 6000 miles.
