I had a small dent in my tank which I have vitually removed by getting access through the fuel pump/filter plate under the tank. The problem is that while doing this some of the internal paint on the tank flaked off (looks like semi-gloss red oxide). I have tried touching this up with a celluose primer but after leaving it a day to dry it rubs of with a petrol soaked rag! I really want to paint or at least seal the edges as the paint around the bare metal as it appears not to be keyed to the metal and lifts quite easily and in time will probably peel off and may block the fuel filter. I was going to try an enamel or Hammerite but I have read somewhere that this may take weeks to fully cure.
