Which Rukka?

i don't think you can remove a Z liner. it usually hangs between the inner & outer layer of the garment. it's not like the separate goretex liners bmw use.

not looked on their website, so may well be wrong :nenau

You may well be right :)

My Steel jacket has the z-liner and it is built into the fabric of the jacket. The removable liner is just for extra warmth.

Rukka Armax

Am I the only one who's had a problem with Rukka? Armax suit new in May this year came with a broken jacket zip. Tried on the replacement and a press stud fell off the jacket. Third jacket's been ok.
Armax trousers fit and feel superb. But the standard "air" armour seems to have hard and sharp edges which has literally worn through the Goretex membrane on the tank side of both knees! It's starting to wear holes on the outside of the fabric too! Not good so off back to the supplier tomorrow. Really disappointed with what was an incredibly expensive piece of kit!

Bought a A-tech jacket and second to top of range Heine Gerricke trousers two years ago and deeply regret the trousers as they feel damp around the seat when raining and generally falling apart. The jacket was bought from Germany and is brill but a bit hot in summer. So last night bought from same site a Jerre-z jacket for warmer weather. Can't wait for the Heine gerrick crap to fall apart and get Rukka trousers, which will mean I can then zip them together when cold. Just need heated gloves to go with the jacket I bought at the NEC and will be well sorted. It all costs a packet but you only buy it once this way. The current A-tech jacket is even better with waterproof pockets and is nice and warm and has never let a drop in. Just hope the new one is half as good.

I've got the SRO Jacket & APR3 trousers. Impressed with both so far though the trousers aren't as good a fit as my old Savanna & Rallye.

Can you explain or post pic? I am about to buy this jacket. If it is bad design, I will go for another model??

Cheers! :thumb

btw .. this german reseller is brillant. For LESS THAN the price of just the rukka jacket, I can get the rukka jacket and a pair of gore tex daytona!!! REALLY US RIP OFF BRITIAN. I thought there wasn't such a dramatic difference within the EU .. how wrong I was. Thanks to the chap who mentioned it!! :thumb

Rukka Armax

Sorry no pics as the jacket and trousers have gone back to the dealer today. The Rukka "Air" armour is said to be pretty good and certainly it's CE approved. But It's hard lattice rubbery plastic with probably very little cushioning effect if landed on hard. Problem with my Armax trousers (rather than the jacket) involved the knee armour which bends into a fairly sharp point when on the bike and which rubs away at the fabric of the pants whilst riding. Result is scuffing of the outer material where it rubs against the bike but worse than that are the holes rubbed through the Goretex membrane from inside the armour pocket! Not nice and certainly not expected of a 6 months old suit. No such problems with the jacket (yet) though returned today because it's letting in wind and rain through the r/h cuff which is supposed to be Goretex lined but doesn't seem to be. And that was the third jacket! Other two were faulty (zip and then press studs). These had to go back before even getting on a bike. Also some problems with the zips on the trousers but that's another story. Still want to buy a Rukka?

I use Rukka, but while at the NEC the other day, I came across another Scandanavian clothing company www.jofama.se
Their kit looked very high quality and might be worth a look.
They have suppliers throught the UK.

A question to those who owned RUkka. What's the difference between the more expensive vs less expensive jacket (although they are all really expensive)?

I can get a Armax jacket or the A tech jacket.

I think the A Tech is an old model but still gore tex laminate jobbie.

The A tech is going to be just a touch under £200 cheaper. Is it a no brainer to go for this one? Given comments about the newer style armour recking the jacket, maybe old tech is safer :nenau

Thanks in advance for the advice! :thumb

my a-tech has the same armour as oldenoughtoknowbetter describes. i've not noticed any chaffing problem with it.

i will be wearing it later this morning & will have a look for any signs of wear.

Hi, I bought the All Road...i loved it..it kept me so dry...then it rained..i got wet arms...and a wet ass.

Hi, I bought the All Road...i loved it..it kept me so dry...then it rained..i got wet arms...and a wet ass.
Then it was fine again....until it rained. yep my 30 mile ride to work left me sitting in wet pants....at least it made the whole office laugh as i got changed into my trousers. i had my All Road 3 weeks in total. i have been given a loan suit ...Which i still have 7 weeks later.
So after much debate as to which suit i should have bought i wished id bought the cheaper Dainese suit i liked, rather then spend £1000 on a non water proof suit.

I have been told my jacket outer and inner are being replaced with the inner from the trousers.. my trousers outers must have been ok as they are not being replaced.

good luck with your choice.:thumb:blast:mcgun
