Actually

....actually it was the YTS art school student BM wubuyu had on summer school training who designed the airbox cover......

......and while he was there he thought the big gap under the petrol tank looked battery sized..........so.......the fact that you can't get at it easily was not an ''artistic'' consideration darling!!!!.....

....and on his last day he really excelled and put the fuel filter inside the tank.....well, ...it was so ugly, he thought he's hide that ghastly service item away......the fact it takes 2 hours rather than 2 minutes to change was not important......

From a company who so say pride themselves on practical issues some of the engineering design/layout on the GS range makes me :blast:handbag:spitfire:mcgun

....apart from that it's a great bike!

Toothpaste is a good abrasive for removing scratches from windscreens and such like, I keep some in my garage also. :D

and then fix the metal lugs after yer done.

Easy as that. :)

The 1150 uses screws, not lugs (clips). Just thought i'd be a knowitall.

It's not the fact it's in the tank thats a problem ( the K series also has a filter in the tank, but you remove the filler cap and change it through the opening, takes two minutes), it's where it's located in the tank .
