picked these up on tour last summer........lightweight strong and comfy .about £30 SI assault Oakley glove

... erm, I wear those (in black!) when I am working ... they're designed as an assaulters glove (hence the name!) but tend to stick when using the pistol :augie - fine for MP5 / M4 / G36K work ... :augie

I wouldn't use them for roping and I certainly wouldn't trust them in the event of a spill on a bike ...

must admit every time I've come off the bike....(and it's not been that often:augie)....tended to be on my arse and didn't put my hands down until it was time to get up.

now retiring from playing with guns, deserts, trucks and incoming. Although not too sure riding the bike is statistically better.

but glove is still good for me

As more snow is on the way, thought it was perfect time to start looking for some summer gloves.
I like the mesh type, with hard, kevlar type knuckle protection, with wrist strap but no gauntlet.
what does the panel suggest is the best buy??

thanks

I bought a pair of IXON summer gloves at Millenium Motorcycles in St Helens - £20

Mesh on the back of hand, kevlar (fibreglass?) knuckles and velcro fastener strap

Very pleased with them

Me too - came out of Cross Harbour Tunnel and as Mr KMB went round the underpass he kindly shed his surplus diesel onto the wet road - went five yards on my palms, direct to QMH and a month off work

Have had a cobbler sew heavy duty patches over the heels of my palms in most of my gloves

Aieee yaaa

yep well this thread just keeps running!!!:beerjug:

now bought a pair of relatively cheap gloves from J&S which have mesh backs and reinforced knuckles, palms seem to have a good amount of leather, so should be good, without melting hands in hot weather we are going to have this summer, especially when global warming really kicks in!

but please keep the dialogue going....:augie

aaaaaaah - I go through there everyday to and from work! Diesel + salt water from the vans carrying fresh seafood = something akin to an ice rink!

DOH!

anyone know anything about Spidi Jabs?

Just picked up a pair of the Spidis. A good glove, well ventilated (better than the BMW glove for sure) but the cut is a little different - the little finger seems to be too long and the cut really encourages a gripping position with the hand. I'll see how there wear in...

... Elkskin ropers; the only gloves a man (with heated grips) needs, winter or summer :rob

ps - But the postage is a killer, find someone on holiday over there

Agree with Oblertone, if you don't own a pair of these you have not expierenced life to the max :D

Mine is coming up for four years now and just get better every season!
