Need a new tankbag. Wunderluch, Touratech, Kahedo, SW Motech..others? Thoughts? 1200GS '10 flavour.

The Wunderlich Elephant looks quite neat. You buy a base plate for the bike so if you sell the bike no need to sell the tank bag. Anyone tried it?

I run the OE BMW tank bags. I have the big one (cant remember the capacity) which came as part of the complimentary luggage deal on my 10 plate 30 Years GS. this is great for packhorse mode but a bit bulky for day to day riding. I also bought the small one which is perfect for a day out. Its still big enough for waterproof gloves, skip hat, scooby snacks etc.

Both have a moulded soft rubber underside which fits he tank perfectly and does not slide around or scratch he tank. They also have a clear top pocket for maps etc and a clever recess for a smart phone. Both are expandable and have an internal sock to keep contents dry. Re-fuelling is via a zipper at the seat front which allows quick removal.

I have not tried any of the others mentioned but I am well pleased with the quality and functionality of the BMW tank bags.

Thanks Knoxy. I've already got the BMW one which I should have mentioned.

Yeah, the Wunderlich elephant range is very nice but also very expensive! Personally I like and use various items from the Wolfman Range. They have some great items. For my F8 tank bag I use the Wolfman Rainier. It's very good and much better value IMO. Perfect size and cery well made. They do smaller versions and a tiny enduro sized version. I don't like the Touratech tank bags or the way they fit.

Wolfman is an American firm in California but are sold in the UK by Winding Roads. They're customer service is excellent too.

Thanks Stephen. I was looking at that. Looks very good. Don't want something too big or too small. Something midsize. Looking to put camera, passport and generally the crap one puts in the bag for European trips. How easy does it go on the bike? I see you also have Rox on your bike. Any problems with indicator switches etc?

Baglux are not bad, just bought the Driver which fits a tablet computer in the top pocket so no need for paper maps anymore .... die hards will protest but Google Maps will do for me ..

It connects via 4 buckles. If you're touring and you want to nip out without the tank bag you can buckle up the straps. You might catch the indicators or horn (I have the horn guard) on full lock with a full tank bag but its not really a problem IMO. The Rainier is a decent size and will probabably suit your needs but they do slightly different styles and sizes, see here.

Tank bag & Tailpack

Have use these two on my previous 3 bikes & have had to "re-brand" the Tailpack due to it being covered in Triumph Logos. The bags connection tank bag may need its mounting shoe adjusting slightly to position the bag further forward.

I'm a fan of Baglux

The tank is protected and I have found with OE ones with elastic zippered connectors that the bag ends up flopping over like a dromedary hump after a short while.

baglux fan here as well :beerjug:

Yep, Baglux. Got my first 2nd hand about 16 years ago with K75. HUGE bag. All bikes since I've added the tank cover, now also have the map case and a medium expandable one.

I use Baglux.. Pro's: doesn't scratch the tank as tank cover already fitted
Con's: extra expense of a tank cover first

I love em though.. Good luggage

I use Baglux too and bought the new one suitable for a tablet computer ... biggest piece of crap ever !!

Zip tags pulled off then both zips failed ... sun bleached the colour, black, out .. the rain cover, used to stop the stuff falling out after the zips failed, went soft in 40+℃ heat and split in the wind ...

Will never buy another :-(
