Which vario panniers?

so I have bought a pair of black and silver vario panniers with 'R1200 Gs' written on them in Black on the side on the bottom of the embossed 'X' at the side Unfortunately there are no keys with them although they are open. Does anyone know if they will definitely fit my 1250gs? And if they do, what is the best way of getting a new key / them dialled into my key?

I have done a search and seem to find contrasting answers to both queries.

Yes they will fit onto the 1250. Any Locksmiths local to you should do the job, BMW dealers will also do it, and I have even had it done at a dealer foc in the past when buying other items from them.

They will fit your R1250GS provided they came from a 2013> R1200GS

I've known people buy the Varios from a a 2004-2012 R1200GS to fit to a 2013> bike not realizing that the exhaust cutaway on the pannier is on the opposite side

You're not the first and you won't be the last

Pre LC panniers are usually a big chunk cheaper than 2013> versions and it's easy to fall in to the cheaper is better trap
