My enduro boots have seen better days and need replacing ASAP.

Any advice on decent pair of waterproof replacement boots for green laning?

Speak to Gaz at the adventure bike warehouse, he swears by his forma boots:thumb

From experience:

Alpinestars Tech 8's leak (like a fecking sieve )

Sidi Crossfires seem to withstand water pretty well, but as they get older begin to leak (not as bad as the Tech 8's tho)

Popular work around seems to be using sealskinz socks or similar. Anythings that's reputed to be waterproof still suffers when the puddles are too deep! I've tried the Forma style but thought they didn't have quite enough lateral protection. For the situations I seem to encounter! If you fancy spending £300 or so I'd go for the Sidi Adventures which are gortex and have good protection too.

I'm sure that your current boots have a little more life left in them!

:D

Never considered such a thing. Once the water is up past the top of the boots / waist they will just slosh about and not drain.

Goretex socks worked for me. :thumb2

I lashed out on a pair of Gaerne boots and the protection has done me well - I'd rather have damp feet than hyperextension of the ankle. Having invested in the boots, I find that waterproof socks and army surplus goretex overtrousers work really well, even when riding through deep water.

If your feet are getting wet through riding in the rain, then you might want to consider a pair of W2 4-Dirt boots, but they don't have decent enough protection for semi-serious laning.

You deffo have at least another couple of years use out of those boots Dave.

They are only just run in :-)

I have both the Sidi Adventure boot and the Forma adventure boot.
They have both been 100% waterproof. The sidi`s do offer more protection IMO but the Formas are uber comfy with a great sole.

If its all out protection you want though and not a "touring" boot I would go for a pair of full on Moto cross boots with a pair of sealskinz:thumb2

Good boot and certainly waterproof and comfy.

Unfortunately part of that comfort is a pliable sole and I found mine quite painful when stood up for long periods. Great "adventure" boot, but not for green laning :nenau

I have a pair of the Alpinestars tech 7's and wear sealzskins socks in them as they are not waterproof but i've never had a wet foot from them. I also have a pair of the Diadora Stone 3 trials boot which come with the waterproof liner and they are fantastic

I'm wearing full MX boots for the enduro/MX shenanigans I'm now getting into...with a pair of long merino wool socks in the drier conditions, and seal skinz in the wetter ones...

2 pairs I have; O'Neal off e-bay (£100 delivered) which are proving to be very comfortable & with good protection. A/Stars Tech 7, which are mega comfortable & with excellent protection.

Interesting thread. I'm just contemplating a new pair of boots, I have some Tech 6's which have been great but they're falling apart now.
Can't seem to find a new pair of Tech 6's so assume they've been replaced?
Not sure whether to go for Tech 8's or something else.

Dave, great boots the Tech 8's but they leak like a sieve :eek (unless you are happy with this and using an alternate waterproofing method like skinz)..
