Thought I'd check out the collective wisdom here for any previous experiences:
2610, V4.70 SW & 2.10 Audio, V8 CN Europe, IR DISABLED
Spent a week in Norway, where the first three days made me feel like changing my name to Noah, then it dried out a treat. However once the rain stopped the 2610 kept switching into "pan" mode accompanied by the same "click" you get when you touch the screen. Check IR was disablled, and it was, and I wasn't getting the old "3 beeps" problem associated with IR. This still happens at home off the AC power, but not as often, and sometimes takes an hour before it does it. Sometimes when it's switched into pan mode, even pressing the "Page" key won't switch it back - and you get a "beep beep-beep-beep".
Also, sometimes in the pan mode the screen would "shake" as if someone had their finger on the screen and was moving it side to side very quickly.
I reckon the touch screen is toast. I've used the web form to ask Garmin what to do, but wondered if anyone else has had the same problem. I haven't heard back yet, and off to Spain in 2 weeks / 2 days, and if it's not fixed will be very disapointed. How long do they usually take to respond / repair stuff?
Cheers
Mark
