Like finding an old rarity in an out-of-the-way antique shop, I visited a little model/toy shop after noticing the faded boxes in the front window.
And lo and behold, they had all types and sizes of models of probably more than a few years old.
Found and bought the two remaining Tamiya 1/12 boxed models of the BMW R80G/S (with Paris Dakar rider) for around £16. They are in red Marlboro colours, no 101 and VSD sponsor logo.
They also have one 1/8 scale 70's BMW R75/5 Toaster for sale, with the chromed side panels. Maybe a good investment.
