While you feckers Were away at the Clans and going "Wee" Down in Okehampton!

While you Feckers were having a good time Very Good Judging by the photos and posts!

I thought I'd get some garage time in too! Unfortunately it wasn't "Project Escargot!" My Ex French R100GS Paralever

It was my old 1985 K100RS with 92.000 odd miles on her

When I was bringing her home one evening after leaving a friends bike back she cut out and didn't want to run so I got a lift home and got my bike trailer

On the way home Ominously *** the right hand front strap snapped and she bounced and fell on the trailer with no damage except for the gearshift sheared off clean at the gearbox

So this weekend I determined that I was going to at least accomplish the major problem of the gearshit shaft and If I didn't cure the electric problem at least it could be wheeled in and out as required instead of blocking the garage

So halfway thru it looked like this

***It happened at exactly the same place as a Guzzi V10Centauro's front wheel bearing collapsed dropping me in the road very very very Hard!

Then I got this bit in bits and went digging for how to get the shaft out

And this evening She was rolled back out and given a wee wash and a test ride down the road and Lovely it was too!

I'm very fond of this old bike as the Fella (a friend of my dads) that sold it to Me has passed away RIP Bill

Feet up for a day or 2 and More Drugs from t'doctor! :(:(

Just to update this one

The Wee K's electrical problem was actually the air trumpets seperating just in front of the airbox

A lead from a Techie friend at BMW said all the air that goes in the cylinders needs to go thru the airflow meter!

Because the two trumpets sat very close and the clamp was on but the screw bit out of sight you wouldn;t have noticed anything unusuall it was only cos I was cleaning connections and refitting the original HES and removing the test HES that I noticed the clamp moved when my arm touched it

half an hour later and it was built and ready for a test NOw a 1000 miles later it's still going fine

So If you have a K that is reluctant to start or feels like it's just gone off a coil while you're riding

Check the air intake system from the airflow meter thru to the intakes

Am I happy?? Yes frickin right I am!!!! I may even remove the Renault Megane 16v coils that I adpated to replace my old but obviously fine ones!
