A Haynes Manual - for the Avro Lancaster Bomber :bounce1

A Revell plastic model of the 'Lanc' (haven't had one of them since I was a teenager :D).

A Haynes Manual - For the Supermarine Spitfire :bounce1 :bounce1 (Fantastic book full of all the things I wish I'd known about the 'Spit'). If you can restore a Series Land Rover you could restore a Spitfire. Value of a flying one is now around £1.4M. cost about £5,000 per hour to fly. Insurance around £50,000 p.a. There are now around 70 flying examples in the world and the number is growing as specialised companies can now make almost all the parts. More and more 'hopeless cases' are being dug up and restored as only a minimal number of original parts are required to provide provenance. I always wanted to get a Pilot's Licence and fly a Spit - but realised years ago that it was a hobby too far. I have flown gliders but that's as far as it will go now I'm afraid.

The Duke video that compliments the Haynes Manual for the Spitfire - haven't watched it yet.

Indiana Jones video (the latest one - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - I now have the full set :clap).

Video - Stories from the Dakar.

Video - David Knight - Enduro King.

Leonard Cohen CDs - 3-CD set of his early stuff :thumb2

Neil Diamond CD - Latest one, 'Home Before Dark'.

EDZ Thermal 'Yeti' fleece (I won't try wearing it under my bike jacket - I might be mistaken for Garfield :D).

A whistling kettle - to use in my workshop on my new 'pot bellied' wood-burning stove :bounce1

Classic Bike Calendar - for the workshop.

Two boxes of Black Magic Chocolate :D

Large box of Wine Gums :D

For the first time in years, not a single M&S shirt or pair of socks :D :D :D

My biggest pressie was seeing the smile on Skye's face when she saw all her pressies laid out on the couch.

I got a bottle of Malibu and a bottle of Baileys (well Lidl versions which are fine for me), 3 boxes of chocolate liqueurs, a Lynx Gift set and a pirate sword , so more than happy with that lot :thumb2

Skye got plenty including loads of Wii games which we havn't even got round to trying yet. Her favourite pressies were a pair of boots and a jacket I picked up on Xmas Eve sales for a fiver each

A Revell plastic model of the 'Lanc' (haven't had one of them since I was a teenager :D).

I also had a Revell model of a 'Lanc' when I was a teenager. I bought it shortly after seeing a real Lancaster Bomber. I was in the Air Cadets and our summer camp was at RAF Scampton home of the famous 617 dambuster Squadron. During our stay we got a flight in one of their Vulcan bombers

We should have a run down to Dumfries sometime in the New Year and visit the Flight Museum there which had a few Spitfire exhibits. I used to have a pilots handbook for a spitfire but don't know where it has disappeared to.

top suggestion......:thumb (or if we fancy a really good/long run, we could go down Lincoln way and see the Air Museum down there.....:augie)

quality game, I had a shot on it last week for the first time.....I was crap....(sober).....:(

If you will try and play games when youŕe hung over what do you expect.

Ohh, by the way, the vodka makes good screen wash. 37.5% ethanol plus a little glycerine to help combat ice crystals forming in the water. :augie

Now go and buy some decent Scotch so that you have something to drink!

He didn´t bring me

my new phase change thermal top!

BuMW choose winter time to change the spec and MCW were sold out of the oldjuns:mad:

The 10yo Gardel Distillery (now sadly gone) Rum Agricole compensated rather well on several levels;)

Or go to RAF Cosford (due West of Birmingham). I was there with the BMW Club in 2005, they have a couple of Spitfires and a Lancaster in their museum - plus loads of other interesting aircraft including a Meserschmitt 'Komet' and an Argentinian 'Puckara'.

Its a good day out (600 mile run though :thumb2).
