).
A Haynes Manual - For the Supermarine Spitfire

(Fantastic book full of all the things I wish I'd known about the 'Spit'). If you can restore a Series Land Rover you could restore a Spitfire. Value of a flying one is now around £1.4M. cost about £5,000 per hour to fly. Insurance around £50,000 p.a. There are now around 70 flying examples in the world and the number is growing as specialised companies can now make almost all the parts. More and more 'hopeless cases' are being dug up and restored as only a minimal number of original parts are required to provide provenance. I always wanted to get a Pilot's Licence and fly a Spit - but realised years ago that it was a hobby too far. I have flown gliders but that's as far as it will go now I'm afraid.
The Duke video that compliments the Haynes Manual for the Spitfire - haven't watched it yet.
