Anybody on here actually ordered a 1300 yet, either before or after the leaked pics came out ?

There’ll be quite a few on here who order one but the question many will be reluctant to answer will be did they buy it or lease it?

I know someone who went to order one but told me they stepped away when the dealer asked for a non refundable £1000 deposit

My local dealer said a couple of weeks ago that he had taken several deposits. I will wait a while yet - apparently it is 12kg lighter than the existing one - which is a step in the right direction.

Unsure why so many are obsessed with others choices of living their lives?

Does it matter one little bit if members walk into a dealership waving twenties, pay by debit card, credit card, hire purchase, or PCP?

They can look at it, wash it, look at it again and even ride it - however it is paid for. Oh and they can post on a forum and possibly even provide an opinion about it.

It’s up to everybody how they spend their money, I just find it mildly amusing that a few get embarrassed by the fact that they’ve spent a serious amount of money on a bike that they can’t do a lot of miles on because of the contract.

It’s the same with cars, why buy something you can’t use as often as you’d like to because the penalty charges are high :nenau I

Odd things make you laugh Andy. If you think PCP'ers worry about mileage, you're wrong. BMW ignore when you trade in and it's pennies for the extra anyway.

I giggle when grandparents leave their grandkids to wander the local bus routes until past midnight instead of just picking them up, but I wouldn't ridicule them.

PS: I own my bike and have finance on my car. The riding experience is no better than the driving experience because I own it.

I dont lease anything Andy but what difference would it make if I did. I don’t care if people lease, it means secondhand stuff for me. The only thing that annoys me are friends who lease and say that there is “no way they could afford to buy a new car” , yet they have a brand new car sat on the driveway and it’s their 3rd in 10years🙈

That’s why life is so good, different people find different things amusing.

I don’t specifically single out BMW riders by the way, out of a group of 6 lads I work with who go for an annual 2-3 week bike tour 4 use older bikes for it simply because of the mileage. They deliberately took out contracts with limited mileage allowances so they could have top spec bikes for weekend use and keep an older one for holidays where they regularly rack up 6k miles while they’re away. It makes sense in many ways and they assure me that a lot of riders do it.

As for the wandering child, well she’s normally ok with bus trips because she uses public transport to get to and from college which is why I let her go into town and the first thing I knew of any issues was when she said she was in Blackburn. Now while you might think it’s more sensible to leave her standing around at closing time in a town she doesn’t know while I collect her I think she’s better being on a bus where she’d told the driver what the problem was and he’d told her to sit tight and he’d take her back to Chorley.

I put a 250quid returnable deposit down on friday subject to a test ride. I did the same with the 1250. Now at 30k miles and not a moments bother.
The 1250 is the best bike i've had and if the new one doesn't excite me i won't bother. I can make my own mind up.
Oh and if i get one i will buy it.
There was something about getting a bike on pcp to get a better deal and then paying it off straight away but it sounded like a load of faff.

That was taking out BMW Finance when they (BMW) would sling £1500 or some such figure into the pot discounting the amount you pay. You then pay off the finance the next day and BMW don't get their £1500 back

A small amount of 'faff' for a decent saving :thumby:

Absolutely worth the hassle for £1500. I got £20k off a 5 series pcp and paid it off the next day.

I have a feeling, this revision, may be not as well received as the others.

It will be proclaimed to be the best yet etc etc but i dont think the buying public will be convinced

I'm going to the big reveal on Thursday :D
