Who’s ordered one ?

And it is not off road suspension but only marketed as such as a GS is not a off road bike but a comfortable street bike you can take on unpaved roads...Back in the days they called these bikes sports tourers...LOL Same with the forged wheels...They call off road wheels. No they are not even f the are sturdier than cast wheels. They are lighter and sturdier as the suspension is 5% stiffer and gives you 20mm more clearance before hard parts touch...Good on road for sure even if they marked it as off road stuff !

And yes if I wanted to abuse my new 30K GS off road I would get the sports-suspension and the Spoke wheels...LOL

Why don’t you just admit defeat and get an Afrikaaa Tweeeeeen ? ?

Yes I admit defeat but I rather keep my 1250...I rather take the bus...Compared to the Africa Tween the GS is gold but it could have been so much better ! I guess the new GS is like the bike if Honda would have build a boxer with drive shaft and innovative front suspension so You should buy one...LOL

Stick to each their own...I must be riding harder than you because I have a half inch taller compared to the 20mm taller sports suspension on my 1250GS and still touch the edges on the bags riding hard...And I only weigh 200 lbs and have a way stiffer 180N/mm rear spring on it...If you have long legs , forgot you dont need it anymore with the low rider button on the new 13GS you would be way better off with the stiffer , 20 mm taller and quicker turning thank to less trail sports suspension ! Its the same that comes on the ADV to help with the bigger heft and really works great on the regular one...Your loss but it is Your bike and I know because I rode both bikes on the same roads ! On road of course as I dont ride off road.
I’ve missed your posts.

I'm sure I'll book a test ride at some time. I'm on a late (TFT) 1200GS, and never saw the attraction of the 1250 either, I test rode 2, and could not see any significant benefit to cause my wallet to flutter! Having done four lengthy (one 4700 miles) tours on mine (would have been a few more but for COVID) I don't see how 10% extra BHP would really benefit me, or affect my enjoyment of touring the Pyrenees, or Transylvania.... 2024 trips in planning stages now :)
A few kg's lighter is an attraction tho!
Every trip I've been on, the 1250's have called for fuel before the 1200's in the group. It would appear the 1300 is likely to become the next thirsty one.
I'll see when I ride one and hear more reviews etc, but unlikely for me...

Can I throw this one in please? Cost of the new 1300…… The new F900 Adventure ? Yes it has a “dirty chain” LOL but looks appealing, both price and spec, just my thoughts.

TD

There’ll be quite a few on here who order one but the question many will be reluctant to answer will be did they buy it or lease it?
i lease every vehicle I ever have, as it makes business sense to do so.

I could buy all of them cash, but that makes no business sense at all.

I will buy mine as always like to own it outright as dislike owing money over a term , never had loans , always paid cash , just works for me and the business.

onHellas...Thanks for the flowers ! MantinK...I actually thought the 1250GS was a HUGE improvement over the R1200GS ! Much more TORQUE and way less mechanical noise from the valve train and TFT screen which is way nicer to read sold me and first I bought a 1250GS-ADV which I traded on a 1250GS-HP with ADV suspension which is IMHO the sweet spot in the GS line !
As for the new 1300 a smaller tank , linked foot brake are a deal braker for me and looks are too nice/bland as it could have come from Japan and I truly expected 155hp/nm to get excited ! But then a testride might change my mind...LOL But looking at the specs I dont think so because all new over a 11 year old concept and then only 6 nm more and 6 kilos less is not the Change I was hoping for...155hp and 24 liters would have generated real excitement and I dont care how expensive it is.Because I WANT it...!

@ team Duvet...You got that right as bikes and fuel and lots of other things get hellish expensive...But it is not the manufacturers fault as our so called leadership disrupted the global supply chain and on top rather have war on russia instead of cheap hydrocarbons from russia...So get your motorcycles and cars while they are still cheap and gas affordable...LOL

Lind Motorrad have no idea when they will have a demo bike. "We hope to see one this year".

What a great response to BMW's "Book a test ride" button on the website.
At least you got a reply. If there ever was a dealership that's gone downhill that's the one, such a shame.

I've never been to Lind in Norwich. Mind you I've not been to any of the other Motorrad dealers in East Anglia either - Reiten and Sycamore. Lind are closest to me, which is why I picked them when booking. I've used an independant near me for servicing since I moved to Suffolk, who has access to the BMW mothership system for servicing and records.

I service mine myself and won't let either of Lind techs touch my bike. Like everywhere else really its all about people.

Must admit, I’m considering ordering one, although I need to get past the headlight first….would keep my Adv, but finding it a bit heavy nowadays, and I don’t need the big tank. Would have swapped it for a 1250GS, but can’t get one built to my spec, so will look at the 1300 if it fits. Be about 25kg less than my Adv when ready to ride, so not to be sniffed at.

Triple black looks good....R13000...should go some
Nice video

Couldn’t agree more. I had lots of bikes from them in Martin Pullen’s days as boss, but customer service levels declined sharply when he left. The owners made, in my opinion some strange decisions on staffing. On the bright side: I find Reiten to be outstanding.
cheers

Yes, we go down to Reiten now, even tho it’s over an hour further away.
