1200GS 30kg lighter? Where did all the weight go?

Okay - I'm guessing most of it from the engine, but anyone know exactly where they got it from?

Certainly nice to test ride one of the skinny-pigs; reminded me of my old VFR.... :yelrotflm

..........

alot of the weight went from the gearbox, compare the gearbox from the 1150 against the 1200 which is about half the size.

Steve

blue 1200.....who took all the spangles ?

that must be why they're failing so much --

also saved a lot on the rear bevel -

is there a theme developing here !

:D :D

( para's gone, so someone's got to tweek the 1200 owners nose's )

That's probably also why it's faster than the 1150

That's also why it's got better handling

Another theme developing....:D

Fill it up with fuel, and the required amout of oil then go & weigh it, I'd like to bet it ain't as light as you think.

There's a thread somewhere on this very subject and I seem to remember it was more like 235 kg for the 1200 vs 250 for the 1150, but i may be corrected.

There once was a lardy copper who, one Saturday afternoon back in the early nineties, stood in front of several thousand (maybe hundreds) of Watford football fans.

They kindly sang me a song:

Who ate all the pies?
Who ate all the pies?
You fat bastard!
You fat bastard!
You ate all the pies!

Bastards!

Very funny though.

I miss the pies.

Bonjour.

I have the BMW press release info

If you give me your email address i can mail it to you.

all 27 odd pages stating where they have shaved a gram off here, and ounce there, and a kilo over there also.

What it doesn't say is just how much this all adds up to the dogs danglies.
